Painting in Photoshop

Until recently, I have been creating all of my digital art in Adobe Illustrator CS2. I decided to give Photoshop a try and I am in love!

Here is my 2nd attempt at painting in Photoshop CS2. The lines were inked in Illustrator and color was applied in PS.

Experimenting with new techniques

I have recently discovered gouache and gouache resist, so of course I have been experimenting. This is definitely my best piece to date. The painting was done with white & gray gouache and Speedball India ink on clayboard.

Konite Illustration Business card

This is the business card design for Konite Illustration. When trying to market yourself, I think it is important to do something that makes you stand out from the crowd, so I incorporated the pencil shape of the logo into the die-cut of the business card (the magenta line is the cutting line).

Konite Illustration Pencil Logo

This is a logo I created for my "Konite Illustration" website. I am a fan of simple, clean logos. I also like logos that utilize one continuous line. I sketched several versions first before scanning my favorite into Photoshop.

After adjusting the image, it was placed into Illustrator where the line was drawn with the pen tool. The path was then offset to give a little dimension to the logo.

New Blog

I am creating this blog as kind of a sister site to my other art blog. I will continue to update that site with random sketches, paintings, and other projects I'm working on. I will use this site as more of an online portfolio with what I consider some of my best pieces.
